Maybe I’ve been watching too many of the wrong videos, but I was scared for his bicep doing a preacher 1RM…
They use tiny balls out of metal inside the handle to get them to the correct weight.
If what he saying is true at all about bodybuilders, not really working out as powerlifters I would bet it has more to do with the bodybuilders, not liking not getting the same type of pump and don’t keep the kind of physique that they like And have to keep a little higher body fat percentage than they prefer. He’s doing this thing where he’s doing a slightly backhanded comment and almost trying to make powerlifting sound superior while trying to act like he’s impartial.

I just turned 55 and am ripped and look 38. I still have a full head of dark hair and wrinkle free face and neck skin. In addition to staying fit, men must start taking care of their skin at a earlier age. Moisturize 2x per day, and avoid too much sun. Avoid "sleep wrinkles" which form by your face crunching up against the pillow when you sleep on your sides and back. Avoid smoking and excessive drinking. "Central Park Joe" looks 61 in his face even though he has a great body. He still looks good for his age, however he has not taken care of his face skin like I have. I will look much younger than he does at 61 in 6 years do to my skin care regiment.

As a young dude. Doing stucco plaster. Scaffolding sections and 90lb bags of Portland cement. Carrying wet cement up ladders all day, Mon -fri worked fabulous.
I think this is why the old school guys from Arnold’s day looked so great most all of them were powerlifters or athletes before bodybuilders. Arnold was the German heavy weight powerlifting champion, Franco was a champion boxer and powerlifter. They looked great and had great fitness levels in one of my books I have by Arnold he said it wasn’t uncommon for he, frank zane and Franco to go on 10 mile beach runs after lifting.
